Evaluation from rarriola:
I have taken classes at other Spanish schools in Guanajuato and Plateros was by far the most accomodating! I´ve studied Spanish for a few years and therefore my Spanish level was all over the place, this was the first school where the professors understood my dilema and were willing and able to work with me to solidify my grammar, reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. My experience at Plateros has been more than what I would have previously thought possible. If there is anything you need to know about Spanish Plateros is where you´ll find it!!

I love this school!!! The teachers are fantastic, knowledgeable, caring, helpful and all around great! The location in El Centro makes staying in Guanajuato a total pleasure, And the one on one lessons, combined with the total program of grammar and studies of the Mexican culture, offers a great program for people learning Spanish. My Spanish began to improve on the first day of my two week stay. Go here to have a wonderful time and to learn Spanish from caring, fantastic teachers.
Evaluation from backerstyle:
Pues, decidi estudiar alli, y me encantaba. I didn't know what to expect when I arrived in Guanajuato. I was nervous, because it was my first time outside of my country. However, I had heard great things about the city, and wanted to learn to speak Spanish better. Due to the fact that there were tons of school there, I was a bit confused. I didn't know where to study, so I asked for the advice of my host family at "Casa Malitsin". They told me about a school called "Plateros Spanish School". They explained how professional and clean the school was, how experienced and patient the professors were, and how much I would learn. With class size of five people or less, I signed up...and loved it. If you are a perfectionist like I am, you will appreciate that fact that the teachers really push you and help you learn. There were times when I was extremely frustrated with the challenges of my teachers, but its only because they wanted me to improve and leave the school with a better understanding of the language. My teachers not only taught me the language, but also a great deal about the culture, food, and history of both Guanajuato and Mexico. Also, there is a "Cafe Social" where everyone in the school goes out one night a week and gets to know each other while eating and having a good time. I truly enjoyed my experience at Plateros, and I would recommend this school to anyone that has the desire to read, write, and speak Spanish better, and wants to have fun while doing it :)
Evaluation from lczteach:
This was my 5th time doing a language study abroad and it was by far my best experience! My program was focused on what I needed to work on most- the subjunctive or as my instructor referred to it- el dolor de mi cabeza!! I really did not expect to make as much progress as I did. By the end of the week, I was correcting myself! I am a teacher and I can appreciate what goes into making a quality education experience. Plateros Spanish School knows how to deliver a quality experience. In addition to my in-class experience, I enjoyed the cultural experience from the top-notch home-stay accommodations to the special salsa classes that Plateros was able to coordinate for me. If you are considering a Spanish study trip, you need to seriously consider Plateros as your school of choice. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
Evaluation from sacha9488:
I spent three weeks studying Spanish at Plateros Spanish School. I recommend the program with complete enthusiasm. The quality of instruction is absolutely top-notch. As an educator myself, I recognize solid methodology in their approach to teaching language. The classes are fun and teachers are personable. They were very responsive to my needs and thoughtfully grouped me with other students. I was provided individual instruction during one week when there were no other students at my level. My home stay experience was absolutely lovely. Plateros does not offer a lot of extracurricular activities compared to other schools but if your goal is to improve your Spanish, it is the place to be.
Evaluation from RoseofPaloAlto:
I had a very good week of classes at Plateros (after a mediocre 4 weeks at a different school). My Plateros instructors had excellent teaching credentials and years of teaching experience. They were professional and friendly. They were responsive to my level of Spanish and to what I was interested in learning. The building was well located and comfortable. Teaching materials were included in the cost of instruction and were selected for my particular needs. It was a most enjoyable experience and I hope to return next year for another visit.
Evaluation from beckya8388:
I was in a one-on-one program for five weeks; I was trying to revive four years of Spanish that I learned in college decades ago. The program consisted of formal grammar lessons in the context of daily life situations, traditions, history. I had lunch with one of the teachers everyday and sometimes used the lunch break to run errands (so she was a good source of information for basic needs). Another teacher took me to museums and other tourist sites and when we didn't go out, we discussed traditions, history, culture, etc. It was like having a personal guide everyday. The lessons were conducted totally in Spanish and the instructors made an effort to help me understand words I did not initially understand by explaining the concept with Spanish words that I already knew (and body language) , until I got the meaning (in other words, no English translation). Not only did I get Spanish lessons but I learned a lot about Mexican culture and history. If there is anything I would add, it would be more practice with listening to the language; the classroom environment was fine where the teachers enunciated clearly and adjusted their speaking pace to my level.
