Evaluation from dejackson:
I have studied Spanish in Cuernavaca, Guanajuato and now Puebla. The Spanish Institute of Puebla tops them all if you have a desire to learn or improve your Spanish.
Evaluation from Cindy:
I have studied in Oaxaca and 2 schools in Cuernavaca and the Spanish Institute is by far my best learning experience. They really care about their students.
Evaluation from andy:
I dont want to leave! This was one of the best experience ever! Its not just studying spanish... is learning a total different culture!
Evaluation from mikecoles:
My overall experience was great. The learning environment was excellent. The staff and faculty were helpful and friendly, wich made my stay there more comfortable. I plan to return next year and would recommend this school to anyone who is serious about learning Spanish.
Evaluation from Kathy:
This school is a great place if you really want to learn Spanish. They take their instruction seriously and are very competent and professional. They start once a month, not once a week like many other schools - starting over again every week tends to waste a lot of time. And you can get individual instruction easily. Highly recommended.
Evaluation from hubert:
I can't say enough nice things about the spanish program at the Spanish Insitiute of Puebla. I know I got my money's worth out of it. The school is very beautiful in its new location. The teachers are great.
Evaluation from Carol:
The program surpassed everyone of my expectations. The people at the Institute, as well as, the teachers and students made it a life changing experience. The conversation aspect of the program is absolutely excellent.
Evaluation from BettyM:
The program of the SIP was perfect and I can say it was one of the best experiences of my life. I improved my Spanish skills from 0% to 100% Excellent!
Evaluation from swibikru:
Great program. I was really impressed with how professional it is run. The school is located in the heart of Puebla, the teachers are very knowledgeable. I was able to meet lots of people and enjoyed the experience immensely.
Evaluation from chriscumo:
I would have loved to stay longer! It is amazing how much you can learn in only a couple of weeks at this school. Everything runs perfectly. Great Job!
Evaluation from larry:
They really care about the students. Every single detail was taken care of. I would recommend this school to anyone that really wants to speak Spanish.
Evaluation from BettyMorton:
This program was recommended to me by a Spanish Teacher who has always been surprised of how much his students can learn at the Spanish Institute in 4 weeks. I went and it exceeded all my expectations.
Evaluation from Katie:
I am generally a very critical person, so it surprises me that I can't think of any improvements the institute should consider. It's obvious that a lot of thought has gone into how the program is organized and managed. I arrive at the institute already knowing a lot of Spanish but I lacked the confidence in my ability to comprehend day-to-day conversation, as well as higher-level written material. I left with the knowledge that I can definitely do both now! Thank you!
Evaluation from david-2008:
I studied at the Institute and loved every minute of it! The best and most unique element of this school is that each student has two hours of conversation after lunch with a native speaker (most are college students). If you pay attention in class, practice with your conversation guide each day, stay with a host family, and commit to speaking ONLY Spanish, you really can reach fluency. -David Fitzmorris, Houston, Texas
Evaluation from gsokolow:
I have some experience with this (Costa Rica) and SIPuebla is extremely well organized. The facility is fantastic and air conditioned. The director and the office staff are wonderful. The outings are well organized. But the best part of the experience were the daily individual (one on one ) guides you work with in the afternoon after classes. These young men and women love and know Puebla. You can go to museums, shopping, or just sit in cafes and talk. I found this the most valuable experience while I was there. Your teacher and your host family are critical to your hapiness. Not everyone is a good fit, but if you have any problems take them to the staff and they will work with you. I cannot wait to go back there. And by the way, Puebla is beautiful, full of friendly people, and safe.
Evaluation from Marilyn:
The course was so much more than I expected. The classes were just the right size to allow questions and practice. The teacher was excellent. The location and climate were ideal.
Evaluation from Amanda:
I was blessed to have the perfect host family, great teachers, amazing fellow students, a great Director and an amazing cultural experience overall. This is truly a complete immersion program.
Evaluation from yanderson:
I had an incredible experience at the Spanish Institute and I want to return soon. Puebla is a fascinating city to learn and practice Spanish. My teachers Silvia and Gabriel were wonderful.

This is a very good school. I am here at the moment in the weekly program. The organization of the program is brilliant. This makes a huge difference. They provide three and four week classes year around. These classes seem to be very good. If you cannot study on their schedule, you can enroll by the week, but the only option is private lessons which is what I am doing. Of course the quality of the instruction is going to very according to the teacher if you want someone with specific knowledge or training, you should spell it out. Don´t assume. The same goes double for the homestay. I wanted and told the school that I didn´t want to have to take a bus or a taxi to class. My homestay is about one and a half miles away. It´s easy to walk in the morning. But, it rains buckets every afternoon and it´s very inconvenient for doing anything in the evening. The good of the homestay is the room is very nice, there is WIFI, the people are good honest decent people. The bad is that they are a fragil elderly couple who want everything exactly the way they want it. They want the student to eat, pee, leave, come home etc. on a schedule. I came downstairs a few minutes early one morning and it was clearly not OK with them. I came home at 9 p.m.--too late for them. At their age I don´t blame them a bit, but I am changing to a hotel in the center of town, close to the school. A hotel in the center that is clean, safe, but not luxurious can be had for $25. For not much more than that you find someplace that is really charming. The bus system is complicated here, it´s a big city, so I am really looking forward to being in the center. There are some homestays who drop off and pick up students after class. It´s a good option for many students, but I think the school should provide information about the other options as well. Puebla is lovely, safe and the people are gentle and polite. The 3 day party does not seem to be the norm here.

I have been to two school is Costa Rica and 1 school in Cuernavaca and the Spanish Institute of Puebla is beyond comparison from any other school. They are really organized and care about their students. My teacher was the best teacher I have had in all my life.

Evaluation from BobK:
I learn a lot. The two hour every afternoon of conversations are great at helping you become more of a Spanish speaker. The program is excellent and run so well. I will go back again.
Evaluation from Becky:
I studied at the Spanish Institute of Puebla in 2009 and had such a great experience studying Spanish in Mexico that I went to another school in Oaxaca (did not live up to the Spanish Institute), then I went to Cuernavaca (did not live up to the Spanish Institute). I since returned for another 3 weeks at the Spanish Institute and realize that their program is well beyond any other Spanish Immersion Program. This is not just my perception but the perception of at least 8 other students that had studied at different schools that were at the Spanish Institute my second time around. I will return. AWESOME.
Evaluation from Thbu:
As of 9/2011 there are very very few adult foreign students in Puebla. This is a big change from a few years ago has changed the atmosphere of the school quite a bit. Most students currently in Puebla have relatives, job prospects, girlfriend/boyfriends etc. If you decide on studying at the institute, I recommend Eliza as a teacher and Gaby as a guide. If you are a single woman looking to study for more than a few weeks, I wouldn't chose Puebla. The small foreign community lives in Cholula a town about 5 miles away which is cleaner and more tranquil. It is very, very hard to find decent, safe housing in Puebla for a stay of less than 6 months. The school provides homestays.
Evaluation from LauraWilson:
WOW! The best program out there. I am a Spanish Teacher that wanted to improve my conversation and the Spanish Institute of Puebla is the only Institute I have found that can teach at my level... they know how to teach Spanish. If you want to travel and learn some Spanish this is not the school for you, but if you are serious about learning you can not go wrong here.
Evaluation from Doriann:
This is a very intensive program and good for learning a lot of Spanish. I learned a lot... more than I taught possible and the school was extremely well organized and efficient.

I have attended this school twice and it is excellent. The host families and their homes are great. Puebla is a large city, south of Mexico city, and it is very safe and friendly. The school day is 4 hours in the morning, taught by college level teachers (all in Spanish). Lunch is an hour and a half at a very nice restaurant. In the afternoon you go on a 2 hour walking tour of Puebla with a college student, all the time speaking in speaking spanish. Great school!
Evaluation from Dave_Rohe:
Overall I had a wonderful experience... it exceeded all my expectations. My teacher was extremely patient and explained things thoroughly. My afternoon guide was equally helpful and my Spanish improved greatly.
Evaluation from angelkatsuki:
YEAH ! so nice!
Evaluation from Al_Weber:
This was an excellent Spanish Immersion Program. Of all the programs I have attended in Mexico (4) this was the most organized, well-managed and professional. My teacher was very skilled and well informed about everything. The conversation partners are very well trained and the entire staff is very helpful.
Evaluation from ChristinaB:
This is the best program to learn Spanish. You will meet people from all over the world and you will learn Spanish very efficiently. I honestly can not think of anything negative... everything was so positive. The teacher are all excellent.
Evaluation from Sandra-Mexico:
I attended for two weeks in Dec. 2014, ending on Dec. 19. I have attended immersion in 3 other cities in Mexico and one in Ecuador and the Spanish Institute is definitely the best. I was in an intermediate class with 4 other people and the teacher was excellent. This was not a vacation, it was work. But it was worth it. I have been studying Spanish for a very long time and my goal is to be totally fluent. My two weeks at the institute helped me towards this goal. I am in an advanced class in Atlanta and the people in my class noticed a change in my confidence in speaking Spanish after my two weeks at the Institute. Also, the cost was quite reasonable. The staff were very good, my tutor even took me home after class and went to the doctor with me after I mistakenly drank tap water. And the secretary, who met me at the airport in Mexico City, gave me a cat calendar after learning about my love of cats and how I was missing mine. And lunch after morning classes, which was included in the cost and in a pleasant restaurant within walking distance, was great. I really enjoyed eating with other students and the food was good. I have been to Mexico 9 times and will return, probably to Puebla and possibly to the Institute. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
