Although they mean well, they are not very organized and do not have course materials except for some photocopies of a book they are creating. Other students who had other schools to compare it to felt the school was not very organized and it was the worst school they had attended. Their city tours are very casual and not very useful from a language learning perspective. Also, they love to "penny pinch" you with all sorts of extra fees. For example, they charge $25 for finding you accommodation even though all they really have to offer is their own simple accommodations. They were useless in their knowledge of other hotel options until I was actually in Cartagena. Once there, they were very helpful. Plus, Cartagena is a terrible place to learn Spanish because the locals speak very fast and mumble. Medellin and Bogota are much better locations in Colombia

This is the third time I studied Spanish in Latin America and was the least positive experience. The school was chaotic and not well-organized. The teacher was very fair. The class size was too large (8 students for an advanced intermediate class) and had no structure. I enjoyed meeting the other students but would not return to this school. Cartagena is a lovely city, but be aware that it gets very hot in the summer months (Dec/Jan).

My time at Nueva Lengua has been a very memorable experience for me. all of the teachers are really nice and are concerned with your experience while in the school and in Cartagena. the atmosphere at the school is really laid back and i like that. i never felt pressured in the classes and i never got bored. The city is awesome and you can take dancing lessons at school (well, I am American so the teacher had to be very patient with me lol) but she was great!! It is up to you to actually enjoy the new experience, I stayed with a family and they were really nice, you just have to adapt to a different culture. Another thing i really enjoyed was having the chance to meet other students from all over the world. Hey you definitely have to visit the Manglares!! it is beautiful.

I like the fact that the classes are located at the university.
