Descriptive adjectives describe people and things .

En español (Spanish), adjetivos agree in gender and number, and typically come after the noun.
An a ending usually means feminine.
An o ending usually means masculine.

tomate rojo
     red tomato (masculine)

piña amarilla
     yellow pineapple (feminine)

plátanos fritos
     fried plantains (masculine plural)

las ciencias políticas
     political science (feminine plural)

Nosotros mostramos el tomate rojo.
     We show the red tomato.

La camisa amarilla es bonita.
     The yellow shirt is pretty.

Mi madre prepara pimientos fritos.
     My mom prepares fried peppers.

Las sábanas pequeñas son suyas.
     The small sheets are his/hers.

Note!
There are a few adjectives that end with e and don't change with its feminine or masculine noun:

El café está caliente.
     The cofee is hot.

Las bananas son dulces.
     The bananas are sweet.
