Step 1

Escribir means to write.
     Escribir is a regular -ir verb.
   To say wrote, use the preterite ending.

yo escribí I wrote
escribiste you wrote
Ud./él/ella escrib you/he/she wrote
nosotros/as escribimos we wrote
vosotros/as escribisteis you all wrote
Uds./ellos/ellas escribieron you all/they wrote/font>

Escribí ese libro.
      I wrote that book.
Tú escribiste jeroglíficos.
      You wrote hieroglyphics.
Él escribió la carta otra vez.
      He wrote the letter again.
Ud. lo escribió setenta y siete veces.
      You wrote it seventy-seven times. (formal)
Nosotros escribimos la carta esta mañana.
      We wrote the letter this morning.
      Vosotros escribisteis
      You all lived (familiar - only used in Spain)
Luisa y Martha escribieron la letra z.
      Luisa y Martha wrote the letter z.
