Overview

Hablar means to talk.
    Hablar is a regular -ar verb.
  To say spoke, use the preterite ending.

yo hablé I spoke
hablaste you spoke
Ud./él/ella habló you/he/she spoke
nosotros/as hablamos we spoke
vosotros/as hablasteis you all spoke
Uds./ellos/ellas hablaron you all/they spoke

Hablé con el director.
      I spoke with the director.
¿Hablaste a tu amigo?
      Did you talk to your friend?
Nadie habló.
      No one spoke.
Sí, pero no hablamos mucho.
      Yes, but we didn't talk much.
     Vosotros hablasteis
      You all talked (familiar - only used in Spain)
Todos hablaron a la vez.
      All spoke at the same time.
Uds. hablaron con ellos.
      You all spoke with them. (formal)
