Overview

The verb poder (conjugation) means "to be able to" or "can". Poder is an irregular verb. The o changes to ue in all forms except nosotros and vosotros.

yo puedo (I'm able to)
puedes (you're able to)
Ud/él/ella puede (you/he/she's able to)
nosotros (as) podems (we're able to)
vosotros (as) podéis (you guys're able to)
Uds/ellos/ellas pueden (you all/they're able to)

No puedo ver.
       I'm not able to see.
           (I can't see.)

Tú puedes abrir la ventana.
       You can open the window.
       (You are able to open the window.)

Por ahora, no puede.
       For now, he/she can't.
       (For now, he/she isn't able to.)

Nosotros podemos tomar el bus.
       We can take the bus.

Los hombres pueden escribir.
       The men can write.
