      We wanted to drink a Coke.

Quisisteis hacer una película.
      You guys wanted to make a movie.

Quisieron ser más transparentes.
      They wanted to be more transparent.

The verb querer changes meaning slightly between the present and preterite tense.

In the present, querer indicates a desire to do something, while in the preterite, action is implied. By using this verb, you are implying that you not only wanted to do something, but that you have either tried to carry out the action or you actively refused to do so No quise... - I didn't want....
