Overview

The verb seguir (conjugation) means "to follow". In other contexts it means to persist/continue. The verb is irregular in the present tense. When conjugated, gu changes to g in the (yo) form (first person singular). Also, e changes to i (with the exception of nostoros and vosotros).

yo sigo (I follow)
sigues (you follow)
Ud/él/ella sigue (you/he/she follows)
nosotros (as) seguimos (we follow)
vosotros (as) seguís (you guys follow)
Uds/ellos/ellas siguen (you all/they follow)

Yo sigo a mamá.

I follow mom.

Tú sigues a Elena mucho.

You follow Elena a lot.

Ana sigue enferma.

Ana is still sick.

Nosotros seguimos a la mariposa.

We follow the butterfly.

Ellos siguen trabajando.

They continue working.

Note: The verbs conseguir (conjugation) and perseguir (full conjugation) also follow the same pattern.

nosotros (as) perseguimos (we pursue)
vosotros (as) perseguís (you guys pursue)
